How to play

Each day features a redacted chapter from a well-known Bible story, rated Easy, Medium, or Hard based on how recognizable the story is and how long the passage runs. Most words are hidden behind blocks showing how many letters they contain. Common words like the, and, and of stay visible to give you context.

  1. Guess words — type a word and hit Guess. Every matching instance in the passage is revealed. Words in the redacted title stay hidden until you submit the correct story name.
  2. Find the story — use the revealed text to figure out which Bible story you are reading.
  3. Submit the title — when you know the story, enter its name (e.g. "David and Goliath") to win.

Stuck? Each player gets up to three hints to pick a hidden word in the passage and reveal it everywhere, or open a summary for a broader nudge — first a vague hint, then a more detailed sentence — without giving away the title. Unlock clues in order — testament, genre (Law, History, Wisdom, Major or Minor prophets, Gospel, or Epistle), book, then story type — or tap Give up to reveal the answer (giving up does not count toward your streak). In team mode, hints are per player — everyone keeps their own three; clues and give up are shared for the room.

Want help from a friend? Start or join a team room with a room code, or click Team up during a puzzle to bring your solo progress — the invite link stays visible in the sidebar. After you finish, use Play another in this room to start today's puzzle with the same teammates.

Verses are shown on separate lines to make the passage easier to read. That is separate from the puzzle's story difficulty badge.

Prefer the full passage? After you win or give up, use the Read on Bible.com link to open the unredacted NIV text on YouVersion.

Complete each day's puzzle to build a streak. Miss a day and it resets — unless you play yesterday's puzzle first when prompted.
